Additional Information: Our participants face a wide variety of personal, emotional, and financial challenges. Because no one solution will work for everybody, we tailor our services to meet the needs of each family. Our case managers work one-on-one with children and families to help them identify needs and create action plans for positive changes. When appropriate, Atlantic Street Center therapists provide mental health counseling for youth and their families who are dealing with difficult issues such as depression, divorce, trauma recovery, unstable life situations, domestic violence, loss, and abuse. In addition, specialized programs such as Positive Alternatives for Youth and Seattle Team for Youth provide intensive services aimed at reducing illegal activities, increasing school attendance and academic success, and increasing life stability. Together, case managers and therapists provide and coordinate a comprehensive set of services that helps each child and family face their challenges head-on.

Additional Information: Professional registered or licensed counselors provide individual, family, and group counseling at our agency and in clients' homes to meet the needs of children (3-19 years old) and their families. AYR counselors are skilled in helping children and families feel comfortable with the counseling process. Common problems addressed include family conflict, suicide, depression, anger and impulse control, teen pregnancy, sexual and physical abuse, school problems, court-referred counseling, and communication problems.

Cost: Group therapy may be covered by Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), and by private pay arrangements based on individual assessment. EAP programs require referral for treatment prior to group assessment or group treatment.
Duration: Short Term Groups (5-7 Members) lasts for 10 Weeks; Ongoing Support (For those who have completed Short Term) lasts at least 20 weeks.
Additional Information: There are both Adult and Children/Teen Programs. Divorce Lifeline provides group therapy where individuals learn ways to cope, meet with peers with similar experiences, and work toward healing and a richer life. Divorce Lifeline offers insight, experience, warmth, and understanding. Each group is led by a Master’s level counselor who facilitates the group in its therapeutic process. They are especially skilled in working with the separated and divorced person. Group therapy is a very effective form of treatment and is considerably less expensive than individual therapy.

Additional Information: Services are for youth of any age up to 20 and their families; youth who work, reside or attend school in Southeast Seattle are eligible for services. The youth served are of culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds, and often live in single parent households. Individual counseling, family counseling and mental health services are offered in this program. Sessions are structured to address problems including family conflict, offensive behavior, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, suicidal thoughts/threats, depression, school problems, teen pregnancy and parenting, drug and alcohol abuse and related problems, peer difficulties, unemployment, and self-esteem related issues. Counseling can be provided at the agency, at school, at the client's home, or other agreed upon locations. Advocacy on behalf of the youth with schools, legal entities, DSHS and other service systems is provided as needed. Referrals and crisis intervention is also provided as needed.
